At Cosmetic World, we want you to feel confident about every purchase. If you need help with an item for an exceptional reason, we’re here to support you.
Return window: Return requests must be submitted within 30 days of the original purchase date. Requests made after 30 days are not eligible.
Final sale (no returns/exchanges): For quality assurance and hygiene reasons, the following categories are final sale:
- Chemical products
- Hair color
- Hair care products
- Nail polishes & nail treatments
- Personal items
- Wigs & hair extensions
- Electrical appliances (see warranty section below)
We also monitor return activity to prevent abuse. If we detect excessive or potentially fraudulent return behavior, we may decline future return requests from that customer, with or without a receipt.
Important Note:
Products labeled “Discontinued” on their product page may not be in optimal condition and are offered only to customers who understand and accept the potential risks. These items are no longer manufactured and are purchased at the customer’s discretion. Cosmetic World is not responsible for any issues that may arise from using discontinued or older products. All discontinued formula product sales are final and are not eligible for returns or refunds.
How to Request a Return (By Mail)
Returns/exchanges are only accepted under the situations listed in this policy. To start, please contact us within 30 days of purchase through our Contact Form and include:

Photos of the product and original packaging
Response time: We will reply within 5 business days.
If your claim is approved, we’ll guide you through the next steps and offer the best resolution (replacement, exchange, or refund depending on the situation).
Shipping Your Return (By Mail)

Please ship items in the original box/packaging whenever possible.

Use a traceable carrier (Canada Post, UPS, or FedEx).

You are responsible for shipping costs from your address to our store.

If your return is approved under eligible scenarios, we cover other related shipping/handling fees connected to resolving your request (for example, a return label when applicable).
Eligible Return Situations
1) Defective Product
If an item arrives defective or not up to our quality standards:

Contact us via our Contact Form within 5 business days of receiving your order.

We will review and respond within 5 business days.

If approved, we will arrange a replacement, exchange, or refund, depending on the situation.
2) Products Damaged During Delivery
If your shipment arrives damaged:

Keep the original shipping box (proof is required).

Contact us via our Contact Form within 5 business days of receiving your order.

If approved, we will send a replacement package and a return shipping label so you can return the damaged item(s) at no extra cost.
3) Wrong Item Sent or Missing Item (Wrong/Incomplete Order)
If you received the wrong item or something is missing:

Contact us via our Contact Form within 5 business days of receiving your order.

If approved, we will send the missing product(s) and, when applicable, include a return label for incorrect item(s).
Returning incorrect items:

You must return incorrect products within 10 days of receiving your second package.

Cosmetic World may refuse late returns or items not returned in the condition received. If applicable, we may charge the full value of unreturned items plus shipping fees.
4) Address Issue (Undeliverable / Returned to Sender)
If a package is returned to us because the shipping address entered at checkout was incorrect:

Once we receive the return, we will refund the cost of the items.

Original shipping fees are not refundable in this situation.

Refunds are processed after the returned package is received and the address issue is confirmed.
5) Customer Remorse
If you’re genuinely dissatisfied and want to return an eligible item:

We strongly recommend returning it unopened and in its original packaging/box.

Use a traceable carrier (Canada Post, UPS, or FedEx).

Return shipping is your responsibility.

A 20% restocking fee will be deducted from the product price.
Electrical Appliances: Exchange & Warranty
All electrical appliances are final sale. However, we honor the manufacturer’s warranty (within the manufacturer’s specified timeframe, starting from the purchase date).
Warranty notes:

Warranty applies to manufacturing defects (issues present at the time of return), not damage from use.

Wear and tear from regular use is not covered.

You must keep the original packaging to be eligible.

In-Store Returns
You can bring eligible returns to a Cosmetic World store (items purchased in-store or online) under the same conditions listed above, within 30 days of purchase.
Please bring:

Original packing slip or
-
In-store receipt or
-
Order/shipping confirmation email
And bring the same debit/credit card used for the purchase.
Refunds
If your order qualifies for a refund:

Refunds are issued in CAD (Canadian Dollars) only.

If you paid in another currency, your bank/credit card company may apply exchange rates or fees. Cosmetic World isn’t responsible for differences in the final credited amount due to these charges.
Refund timing:

We process refunds within 7 business days after approval/confirmation.

Once issued, the refund may take 7–14 business days to appear on your statement (depending on your bank/credit card provider).

You will receive an email notification when applicable.
